Sound muffling device for eight harp strings Personal tool for harpists The harp allows for a number of different fingering techniques. Muffling is one of the techniques used for producing sound and expanding the range of tones that can be played by fretting the strings of the instrument. In order to muffle the harp strings, the musicians use their fingers and are thus able to reach a limited number of strings. Harpi allows to seal a larger number of strings and allows uninterrupted playing. With this tool I follow traditional playing methods and offer a new experience of producing the sound and listening to it. The project examines different morphologies, the ways in which the fingers are held on the strings, as well as how the contact between the body and the instrument guides the sound.
