A seat for two

How much space do two people require?

A large home object that invites spacious and intimate seating for two. I took the inspiration for the project from the plant world with reference to the image of dry leaves resting on the ground. In an effort to get closer to the organism of the leaves, I chose to use a parametric design method. By defining material and formal constraints in the software, a large form of organic qualities is obtained.

The design process was accompanied by formal research and a look at the meeting between two bodies at rest. Examining the positions, I aimed at outlining the production process based on two- and three-dimensional sketches, creating prototyping, varying scale models, three-dimensional modeling and the 1: 1 two-dimensional design model shown in the images.
